"Spotted" Owlet by chance
There is a notion that wildlife parks in India, in general are closed in the monsoon. This acutally is not entirely true, as there are some parks that operate even in monsoon, with limited access though. Sure, the majority of tourists who want to go into the woods with a single minded objective of "Tigers" refrain from visiting a park as most of the gravel roads are closed, but that is a blessing in disguise for nature lovers. Monsoon creates magical frames and we decided to act upon a trip that was planned overnight. It was the monsoon of 2015 and we crashed into to the Forest Department guest house at Moharli, Tadoba as it was the cheapest option. The "off" season meant we got ourselves a dormitory which perfectly sufficed. We had just about checked in, when a movement caught our eye on, what seemed like, an Almond Tree and we decided to go out and investigate. It was a sweet welcome to Tadoba as a pair of Spotted Owlets treated us with their hunting antics. We spent quite some time with them and also managed to click a few pictures. Owls are always fabulous to observe, so well structured with a sense of curiosity all over their faces.
